Today's discovery justified an upload to YouTube, but it is only the latest of many first time emergent patterns all of which stemmed from one particular viable seed pattern, still cryptically identified as p8_HJ because is the product of two quite different collisions found during a survey of ubiquitous (space)ships reacting with even more ubiquitous minimal period 8 cyclic patterns. Those collisions produce equivalent minimal patterns with 12 live + 7 dying cells in which the minor differences in position of dying cells are lost as the pattern starts growing. At time of posting, p8_HJ is at iteration 187,600 en route to being able to do the standard rendering at 200,000 on what increasingly looks like Sunday morning.
